How does this calculator work out my rate?
It takes your target annual income, business expenses, working weeks, billable hours per week and desired profit margin, then works backward to the hourly rate you would need to hit that income.
What are billable hours?
Only part of a freelancer's week is paid client work; the rest is admin, marketing and breaks. Billable hours are the hours you actually charge for, which is why the recommended rate is higher than salary divided by all hours.
Should I include taxes in my rate?

Is my data saved anywhere?
